Why do i drool while i sleep?

My husband has noticed that I drool quite a bit when I sleep, especially if I'm really tired. I don't really feel it happening, but it leaves a mark on the pillow. Is this a normal thing or something to be concerned about?

Dude, I totally drool sometimes! Especially when I'm really tired or sleeping on my side. It just means you're in a super deep sleep, I guess. Nothing to stress about, just gotta change your pillowcase often, haha.

It's a very common physiological response. It happens when you're in deep sleep and your facial muscles relax, including your mouth, allowing saliva to escape, especially if you're sleeping on your side. Usually, it's harmless. If it's excessive and bothersome, check for nasal congestion or consider your sleep position.

I get so self-conscious about drooling! Does anyone else feel like it's a sign of bad sleep or something? I always worry what it means. Is it actually just normal and I'm overthinking it?

I've read that it's often a sign of deep sleep! Your body is so relaxed that your mouth muscles don't hold the saliva in. Also, sometimes if your nose is blocked, you breathe through your mouth more, which can cause drooling. It's fascinating how our bodies work while we're unconscious.

Arre, beti, this is a very normal thing! It just means you are sleeping like a baby, very soundly. When you sleep deeply, your mouth muscles relax fully. If you sleep on your side or stomach, it will happen. Nothing to worry about, just change your pillow cover often.

Drooling during sleep is a common phenomenon. It occurs when saliva accumulates in the mouth and, due to relaxed facial muscles and gravity (especially if sleeping on your side), it escapes. While usually benign, if it's excessive, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms like choking or poor sleep quality, it's best to consult a general physician to rule out any underlying conditions like sleep apnea or GERD.

It can be a little embarrassing or make you anxious to drool, I totally get that feeling. But honestly, it's a very common and normal thing that happens when you're in deep sleep. Try not to let it worry you too much. Your body is just doing its thing while you rest.

While it's often just normal, excessive drooling can sometimes be linked to issues like sleep apnea or even acid reflux. My uncle had consistent drooling, and it turned out to be part of a bigger health problem. It's always best to consult a doctor to get a proper assessment, especially if it's very frequent.

I used to drool too, and it made me feel a bit self-conscious. I found that if my nose was blocked, it was worse. So, I tried steam inhalation before bed. Also, I tried to sleep on my back more often. It really helped to reduce it a lot. Give it a try!

While many say it's normal, don't dismiss it completely. I once ignored something seemingly small, and it led to more significant issues later. If you're drooling heavily and consistently, especially with snoring or waking up tired, it's worth seeing a doctor. It could be related to sleep apnea or other breathing issues, which are serious.

Beta, drooling often means you are in a very deep and peaceful sleep. This is good! Sometimes if you have cold, then also this happens. Try putting a little 'ajwain potli' near your pillow if you feel blocked. But if it makes you uncomfortable, then talk to the family doctor.

Hahaha, tell me about it! My roommate always makes fun of me for my drool marks. I think it's just when you're super tired and crash hard. Or if you're sick and your nose is blocked. Totally normal college life thing, don't worry!
