Why do i drool so much when i sleep?

My husband often complains that I drool a lot in my sleep, and sometimes I even wake up with a wet pillow. It's a bit embarrassing, and I'm not sure why it's happening. Is this a normal thing or something to be concerned about?

My doctor explained that excessive drooling during sleep (sialorrhea) is often due to sleeping on your side or stomach, which allows gravity to pull saliva out. It can also be related to nasal congestion, making you breathe through your mouth. Less commonly, it could be a sign of acid reflux or even a mild sleep disorder. If it's a concern, a quick chat with your GP is recommended.

Hey, it's pretty common for people to drool a bit when they sleep, especially if they're in a very deep sleep or sleeping on their side. Your body is just super relaxed! Don't feel self-conscious about it. If you're concerned or it's causing discomfort, a quick chat with a doctor can always help put your mind at ease.

Arre, this is normal! It means you are sleeping very soundly, like a baby. If you sleep on your side, the mouth might open a little, and the saliva comes out. Nothing to worry too much about. Just put a towel on your pillow if it's bothering you!

I used to drool a lot when I was congested or had allergies. What helped me was making sure my nasal passages were clear before bed. A nasal rinse or steam sometimes helped. Also, trying to sleep on my back, though that's not always easy to control!

Could be that your facial muscles are super relaxed during deep sleep. Regular exercise and a good routine before bed can promote better, deeper sleep. But if it's really a lot, and you wake up with a sore throat or dry mouth often, maybe consult a doctor, just to check for anything else.

OMG, I do this too sometimes! Especially when I'm super exhausted after studying all night. I think it means you're getting some really good, deep sleep! Or maybe just sleeping with your mouth open, lol. Don't worry, it's normal.
