Why do i crave sugar after vomiting?

Whenever I throw up, especially if it's because of motion sickness, I immediately start craving something sweet like a chocolate or a pastry. It's so weird, like my body needs it. Why does this happen?

It's completely normal to feel confused or anxious when your body does something unusual, like craving sugar after being sick. Don't worry, your body is likely just trying to replenish energy quickly. It's a natural response, but still, be gentle with yourself and rehydrate.

When you vomit, your body feels weak, na? It loses energy quickly. So it craves something quick to bring back strength. Our elders used to give 'nimbu paani' with a little sugar, or a small piece of jaggery. But don't have too much, just a little for energy.

My son does this too after he gets sick! It's like his body immediately asks for something sweet. I usually give him ORS or very dilute fruit juice, just enough to settle his stomach and give him some energy. Small sips are key, and don't force too much solid food immediately.

For me, managing my thyroid means I'm always aware of how my body handles energy. After vomiting, your blood sugar can drop. While it's normal to crave quick energy, be mindful if you have any other health conditions. If it's a constant issue, mentioning it to your doctor during your regular check-up is a good idea.

That's pretty common. Your body just lost a lot of fluids and energy, so it's looking for a quick fix. Don't overdo it with junk food though. A small amount of glucose or a sweet fruit like a banana is better to get your energy back. Rehydration is priority.

When the body undergoes stress like vomiting, it depletes 'prana' and energy. The craving for sugar is the body trying to quickly restore balance. After such an event, gentle breathing and resting, along with small sips of water or diluted juice, are more calming for the system than a sugar rush.

My health app sometimes warns about electrolyte imbalance after stomach issues. Craving sugar could be your body signaling that it needs energy fast. I use electrolyte powders or ORS, they have the right balance of sugar and salts to help you recover better.

After vomiting, your body is essentially in a depleted state. It needs calories quickly to recover. So, craving sugar makes sense because it's fast energy. Focus on complex carbs and electrolytes, not just simple sugars, to truly restore your body's balance.

I've read about this! It's because your blood sugar drops after vomiting, and your body signals for something sweet to bring it back up quickly. It's a survival mechanism, almost. Smart how our bodies work, no?

Haan, this is very common, na? Jab vomit ho jaati hai, body ki energy low ho jaati hai. So it just wants quick glucose to feel better. Bas zyada sweets mat khao, thoda sa le lo aur paani piyo. ORS is best!
