My tongue is often sore, and my husband told me I sometimes bite it in my sleep. I didn't even know I was doing it! Why do I bite my tongue in my sleep?

My dentist told me that biting your tongue in sleep can sometimes be related to bruxism (teeth grinding/clenching), or even sleep apnea. Sometimes it's just an odd sleep position. If it's happening often and causing pain, it's worth talking to a dentist or a sleep specialist. They might suggest a mouthguard.

Dude, I used to do this! My tongue would be so sore in the morning. For me, it was just stress. Once I chilled out a bit and stopped overthinking, it happened less. Also, sometimes I used to drink too much water before bed and had weird sleep. Keep it simple.

It can be really alarming to wake up with pain like that, and it's natural to feel anxious about it. Just know that many people experience this, and it's often not serious. But if it's concerning you, a quick chat with a doctor can really help ease your mind.

Hmm, interesting. Sometimes body movements are connected to how relaxed you are. Maybe try a light walk or some stretching before bed? Helps to relax the muscles. But if it's quite frequent and you're waking up in pain, a doctor is the best person to ask.

Oh god, this happens to me sometimes! I wake up with a sore tongue and wonder what war I fought in my sleep. Probably just talking too much in my dreams or something. If it's really painful though, maybe get it looked at. Our bodies do weird things after a certain age!
