Why do babies sleep with their arms up?
My 2-month-old often sleeps with his arms raised above his head, like he's surrendering! My mother-in-law says it's normal, but I'm curious if there's any particular reason babies sleep like that.

My nani always used to say to keep their arms inside, but modern doctors say it's normal. Still, if you're ever worried about their breathing or comfort, always get it checked by the pediatrician. No harm in being extra careful for a baby.
Oh, my baby used to do this all the time, it looked so cute! I asked my doctor, and he said it's called the 'Moro reflex' and also sometimes they just find it comfortable. It's totally normal and they usually grow out of it.
Many babies find this position comfortable, sometimes called the 'startle reflex' position. Ensure they aren't too warm if their arms are out. However, if they seem uncomfortable, or have difficulty breathing, please consult a doctor. Otherwise, it's usually just natural.
Haha, my kids used to sleep like they were surrendering to the sleep gods! It's super common. Probably just their natural position, or maybe they're just getting ready to take flight in their dreams. *chuckles*
