Why did pain kill jiraiya?

My friends and I were discussing anime characters, and someone brought up Jiraiya from Naruto. We were talking about his fight with Pain. Can someone explain why Pain was able to defeat and kill Jiraiya? I thought Jiraiya was really powerful.

This is about a fictional character. For health topics, like managing thyroid issues, regular doctor checkups and blood tests are crucial. Let's keep this platform for actual health and wellness questions, please. It's important to differentiate between fiction and real health advice.

Oh, that's a fictional character from an anime/manga series (Naruto)! The character 'Pain' (Nagato) killed Jiraiya in the story. This isn't a health question. If you have real health concerns about pain or anything else, please ask those! My mind immediately stresses when I think of real pain issues!

Arre bhai, yeh toh Naruto ka sawaal hai, na? Health ka nahi hai. Yahaan pe hum real health problems discuss karte hain, jaise headache kyu hota hai, ya pet kharab ho gaya toh kya karein. Anime ke characters ke baare mein yahaan mat poocho, haan? 😂
