Why did my contractions stop when i went to sleep?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and had some regular contractions all evening. My doctor told me to monitor them, but then I fell asleep for a few hours and when I woke up, they had completely stopped. Is this normal during late pregnancy, or should I be worried? My first baby came quite fast, so this is new for me.

Pregnancy and contractions are serious medical matters. Do not rely on internet forums for this. You need to call your doctor or hospital and describe exactly what happened. They are the only ones who can give you accurate, safe advice.

Sometimes early contractions can ease up with rest, that's fairly common. It's often called 'false labor'. But for any concerns during pregnancy, especially related to labor, you must inform your doctor. They know your history best and can advise if you need to be checked.

Haha, your body was like 'Nah, not tonight, I'm sleepy!' 😂 But seriously, that's actually pretty common for early contractions to fizzle out with rest. It usually means it wasn't the 'real deal' yet. Still, give your doc a call just to keep them in the loop!

Oh, I remember that feeling so well, the mix of hope and confusion when contractions just stop. It can be really disheartening. It happened to me too, and my doctor explained it was probably prodromal labor. Please talk to your own doctor; they can explain what might be happening with you.

Hey, don't stress too much! This happens to a lot of expecting moms. Sometimes real contractions only kick in when you're active, and if you lie down and rest, they slow down or stop. It might just be your body telling you it wasn't time yet. But definitely tell your ob-gyn.

Listen, for pregnancy stuff, always consult your doctor. What you're describing, sometimes it's Braxton Hicks, sometimes early labor that slows down. Only a doctor can tell you for sure. Don't waste time asking online, call your gynaecologist right now.
