Why can't you sleep with contacts?

I sometimes forget to take my contact lenses out before sleeping, especially after a long day. My eye doctor always warns me not to sleep with them in. What are the actual risks if I do this once in a while?

Oh, contacts! My eyes feel dry just thinking about it. Once, I dozed off with them and woke up feeling like my eyes were sandpaper. Never again, yaar. The hassle of taking them out is nothing compared to the discomfort.

Yaar, actually, it's about oxygen. Your cornea needs to breathe, you know? When you sleep with contacts, it's like suffocation for your eyes. Can lead to infections and irritation, believe me, not worth the risk. My friend went through this, it was bad.

I sometimes worry about this too. What if I accidentally fall asleep with them? Does anyone else get super paranoid about damaging their eyes? Like, the thought of an infection just freaks me out. Is it really that common?

Honestly, it's because contacts block oxygen flow to your eyes, especially when your eyelids are closed for hours. This can cause redness, irritation, and even serious infections. It's best to always take them out before sleeping, no matter how tired you are.

I once ignored the doctor's warning and slept with my contacts. Woke up with a painful, red eye that took days to heal and needed antibiotics. Please, don't make my mistake. Eye health is serious, if you feel any discomfort after, see a doctor immediately.

Most eye care professionals strongly advise against sleeping in contact lenses because it significantly increases the risk of corneal infections and complications. The closed eyelid environment reduces oxygen supply and creates a breeding ground for bacteria. Always follow your ophthalmologist's advice on this.

Simple baat hai, contacts are not meant for sleeping. They block air and make your eyes dry and prone to infection. Why take a chance with your eyes? Remove them before bed, it's not a big task.

My eye doctor strictly advised against sleeping with contact lenses. My mother also used to tell me about eye hygiene. It can lead to severe eye infections because bacteria can get trapped easily. Better to be safe and remove them.
