As someone managing thyroid, I know how body sensations can sometimes trigger anxiety. Fear of vomiting, or emetophobia, is a real phobia. It's not just a casual dislike. It's good to talk to your doctor, they might refer you to a therapist for cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can be very effective.

This isn't just about feeling sick, it's about a deep-seated fear. If it's impacting your daily life, it's a real issue. A quick consultation with a therapist, even online, could provide strategies to manage this. Don't let it take over your peace of mind.

Such phobias can really limit your life. While therapy might seem like an added expense, many therapists offer online sessions which can be more affordable. Look for government hospitals or NGOs that provide mental health support. Investing in your mental well-being is crucial and worth planning for.

I personally just really dislike vomiting, but I've had friends who had a genuine fear of it, like a full-blown phobia. They found that talking to a counselor really helped them. So, while I can't give medical advice, I can suggest that talking to a professional about fears often helps process them.

Emetophobia, the intense fear of vomiting, is a recognized specific phobia. It can be triggered by past traumatic experiences or develop without a clear cause. It's advisable to consult a mental health professional, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist, who can provide effective therapeutic strategies like CBT.

It sounds like a very distressing fear. With PCOS, I've learned that hormonal imbalances can sometimes impact mood and anxiety, which might contribute to such fears. While I can't say if that's your case, it's always worth discussing with your doctor. They can help identify if it's a standalone phobia or linked to something else.
