Who may terminate coverage under a cancelable health insurance policy?

I have an older health insurance policy, and my agent mentioned it's a 'cancelable' one. I'm trying to understand the implications of this. Who typically has the authority to terminate coverage under a cancelable health insurance policy?

From what I understand, with a cancelable health insurance policy, both the insurance company AND the policyholder can terminate the coverage. It's different from non-cancelable ones. Always good to check your policy docs carefully, they have all the terms written there.

Cancelable policy matlab, both sides can cancel it, haan ji. Insurance company can also, and you can also. But always read the fine print, bhai. Usually, they have to give notice period, or there are specific reasons. Don't just assume anything.

Typically, in a cancelable health insurance policy, both the insurer and the insured have the right to terminate the policy. However, the exact conditions and notice periods would be detailed in the policy document itself. It's crucial to review that specific contract.

I heard that with cancelable policies, the company can terminate it too. Does that mean they can just cancel it anytime without a big reason? Like, what if you get sick? I'm a bit anxious about that. Has anyone else faced this kind of situation?

Initially, I also got a bit worried about the 'cancelable' part when I first took my policy! But it usually means either the insurer or you can end it. Don't stress too much, it's quite standard. Just make sure you know the terms if either side decides to do so.
