Where is your kidney located in your back?

I've been having some lower back pain and I'm a bit concerned about my kidneys. Could you tell me where exactly your kidney is located in your back?

Your kidneys are not really in the middle of your back, but more towards your sides, just under your rib cage. They're typically at waist level. I used to get confused too, but when I had a kidney stone, the pain was more in my flank area, not central back.

Dude, kidneys aren't like, right in the center of your back. They're more on your sides, like just above your waist. If you touch your lower back, a bit to the left and right of your spine, that's roughly where they are. Mine hurt there sometimes after heavy workouts if I don't hydrate well.

The kidneys are actually situated on either side of your spine, below the rib cage, towards the back, but closer to the flank area. They're not literally in the 'middle' of your back. If you have any discomfort, a doctor can give you a precise diagnosis.

They are located higher up than most people think, right beneath the rib cage, on both sides of the spine. Not in the very lower back. Keeping hydrated is a simple way to help your kidneys function well.

From what I felt when I had a backache, my doc said the kidneys are more on the sides, under the ribs, not really smack in the middle. Everyone's body is different, so if you have pain, best to just show it to a doctor.

Oh, I always thought they were lower down. So they are more to the sides and higher up? Does that mean lower back pain is usually not kidney pain then?
