Where is left kidney?
My doctor mentioned something about my left kidney during a check-up. I'm trying to visualize where exactly the left kidney is in the body.

I'm also learning about this. The left kidney is generally located on the left side of your spine, below the rib cage. It's usually a bit higher than the right one. Is there a specific reason why it's positioned higher?
The left kidney is situated on the left side of your body, in the retroperitoneal space (behind your abdominal cavity), just below the diaphragm and spleen. It's typically located a bit higher than the right kidney. If you're having any discomfort there, best to get it checked promptly.
Oh, the left kidney! It's nestled on your left side, towards your back, just under your lower ribs. Pretty much opposite your right one, but often slightly higher up. 🥳 Such amazing organs!
My doctor explained this recently. The left kidney is located posterolateral to the spleen, meaning it's to the back and side, on the left. It sits typically between the T12 and L3 vertebrae. It's generally positioned slightly higher than the right kidney due to the liver's presence on the right side pushing the right kidney down a bit.
From a practical point of view, the left kidney is on your left side, tucked behind your abdominal organs, near your back. You can generally find it just under your lower ribs. It usually sits a bit higher compared to the right one. Knowing its general location helps understand any pain you might feel there.
