Where is esophagus pain felt?

I've been having a burning sensation in my chest, especially after eating spicy food. My husband said it might be coming from the food pipe. Where exactly is esophagus pain usually felt?

I'm not a doctor, but from my own experience, when my esophagus acts up, the pain feels like it's right in the middle of my chest, behind the breastbone. Sometimes it even radiates to my back or neck. It's a very distinct burning or squeezing sensation. Just sharing my personal feeling, not advice.

I was just reading about this! Esophagus pain is usually felt in the chest, right behind the sternum, kinda where your heart is. It can feel like burning or a sharp, squeezing pain. It's confusing because it can be mistaken for heart issues.

Esophagus pain, it's typically felt right behind your breastbone, in the middle of your chest. It can feel like heartburn or even a crushing sensation. If it's severe or you're worried, you need to consult a doctor, don't ignore it.
