Where is back pain with kidney infection?

My neighbour has a kidney infection and is in a lot of pain. She says her back hurts very badly. I'm trying to understand, where is back pain typically felt when someone has a kidney infection?

Beta, when I had a kidney issue many years ago, the back pain was usually in my lower back, on one side, near the ribs. It's a deep, constant ache, very different from a muscle pull. Don't worry, but do get it checked if you feel this.

I just got over a kidney infection a few months back! The pain was really sharp, right under my ribs on my left side, and it radiated to my lower back. Also had fever and chills. Felt terrible, but after antibiotics, it finally got better. Definitely see a doctor quickly.

Oh, that back pain is no joke. It's usually a deep, aching pain in your flanks, either one side or both, kinda where your lower ribs meet your spine. It's not just physical, it can be really draining emotionally too, especially with the fever and general unwellness. Hope you get relief soon.

Kidney infection back pain is usually higher up, around your mid-back or flank area, not like typical lower back strain from lifting. It's different from muscle soreness. Good hydration and staying active is always good, but if it's an infection, you need medical intervention, not just exercise.

Usually, it's felt in the flank area, which is your sides, just below the ribs and above the hips. While for general back ache, warm compresses and some ajwain water can help, for kidney infection, you really need to see a doctor. It's not something to ignore with home remedies only.

The pain from a kidney infection, or pyelonephritis, typically presents in your mid-back or flank region, often on one side. It can be quite severe and is usually accompanied by other symptoms like fever and chills. Please don't self-diagnose; see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Antibiotics are usually needed.

Back pain from kidney infection usually feels like a deep ache in your lower back or side, just under your ribs. It can be confusing because so many things cause back pain. With PCOS, I've learned to be really careful about any new symptom, so definitely get it checked out by a doctor to be sure.
