Where do you itch with liver problems?

My mother has been having some liver issues for a while now, and she's started experiencing a lot of itching recently. She's asking me where people with liver problems usually get itchy. I want to help her understand this better.

Oh, I didn't know liver problems could cause itching. Is it usually all over the body, or in specific places? Like, does it feel different than normal skin itching?

From what I've learned, with liver issues, the itching can be very widespread, almost anywhere on the body, but often more intense on the hands and feet. It's an internal discomfort, unlike superficial itching. Gentle breathing exercises can help manage the stress of it, but please consult a doctor.

Beta, when the liver is not well, the whole body can itch, like fire. It's not like a normal scratch, it comes from inside. Some people say their palms and soles of feet itch the most. It's a sign to see the doctor without delay.

Liver-related itching, known as pruritus, is typically generalized and can be quite severe, often worse at night. It's due to bile salt buildup. It's very important to get any persistent itching checked by a doctor, as it could be a sign of underlying liver disease that needs attention.

I get really anxious about health symptoms, so I understand the concern. For liver problems, the itching can be quite intense and can be felt all over the body, or sometimes concentrated on palms and soles. It's not a regular itch. Please see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and ease your mind.
