Where are kidney stones located?

A friend of mine is complaining about severe back pain, and she's worried it might be kidney stones. I was trying to explain to her where they are usually found, but I'm not entirely sure myself. Could someone clarify their location?

Kidney stones primarily form within the kidneys, which are located on either side of your spine, below the rib cage. However, once formed, they can move and become lodged anywhere along the urinary tract, including the ureters, bladder, or urethra. For accurate diagnosis and management, consulting a doctor is essential.

From what I remember from bio class, kidney stones originate in your kidneys, which are like, in your lower back, right? But then they can move down the urinary pipes to your bladder, and that's when it causes all the pain. So yeah, start in the kidney, end up anywhere down there.

Kidney stones are formed inside the kidneys, period. But they don't just stay there; they can travel anywhere in the urinary tract. Don't start chugging home remedies just because someone on the internet said so. If you have symptoms, go to a doctor, get scans, and find out the exact location and size. Only then can you treat it right.

Oh my god, kidney stones! I always worry about them. They start in the kidneys, which are in your lower back. But then they can travel down those tiny tubes to your bladder. That's when it gets scary, thinking about them moving. Please drink enough water so you don't get them!

Kidney stones begin their journey in the kidneys, which are in your lower back area. But they can move from there into the tubes that connect to your bladder, and even into the bladder itself. My family always says to drink lots of water, but for actual stones, trust your doctor, not just home remedies.

Kidney stones are formed in the kidneys. But once they're there, they can move through the ureters, which are the tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder. This is often where they cause severe pain. Always be cautious with any abdominal or back pain, just like with PCOS symptoms, it's best to get a medical opinion rather than guessing.
