When to worry about abdominal pain?

I've had a dull ache in my lower abdomen on and off for a couple of days now, sometimes it feels like a cramp. It's not severe, but it's consistent. When should I actually start worrying about abdominal pain and consider seeing a doctor?

I totally get how scary abdominal pain can be because it can mean so many things! Generally, if the pain is very severe, sudden, localized to one spot, or comes with other symptoms like fever, vomiting blood, black stools, or if you can't pass gas/stool, then it's definitely time to get medical help immediately. Don't try to tough it out.

Listen, little stomach ache is common, don't panic for every little thing. But if the pain is so bad you can't stand straight, or if it suddenly gets worse, or you're vomiting constantly, running a high fever, or notice blood in your stool, then please don't wait. Go to the emergency room, okay? Better to be safe than sorry.

When to worry about abdominal pain? When it's not just a 'too much biryani' ache! Haha. Seriously, if it's super sharp, localized, or feels like someone is stabbing you, or if you also have fever, throwing up, or can't poop/fart for ages, then it's a definite red flag. My body sometimes complains just because I looked at a burger, but these are different level pains. Don't ignore the serious ones.

Haan, abdominal pain toh common hai, kabhi gas se, kabhi khane se. Par agar dard bahut zyada ho, ya itna tez ho ki saans lene mein bhi takleef ho, na, tab toh turant doctor ke paas jaana chahiye. Aur agar vomiting ho rahi hai, ya bukhar bhi hai, toh bilkul mat ruko. Ye sab red flags hote hain.

I just recovered from a nasty bout of appendicitis, and trust me, you *need* to worry if the pain is sudden, sharp, and localized, especially on your lower right side. Mine started mild but rapidly got worse, with nausea. If it feels different from your usual acidity or period cramps, or if it comes with fever/vomiting, don't wait even a day. Get it checked immediately.

Most tummy aches are just normal, so don't worry too much! 😊 But if the pain is super severe, comes on very suddenly, or you have fever, vomiting, or blood in your stool, then it's time to visit the doctor ASAP! Hope you feel better soon! ✨

Pet dard toh kabhi kabhi ho jata hai, par agar bahut zyada dard ho, ya ulti aa rahi ho, ya bukhar bhi ho, toh ghabraana mat, seedha doctor ke paas jao. Apne aap theek hone ka intezaar mat karna. Unki baat sunna beta.

Mild, occasional pain is usually fine. But if it's sharp, sudden, or accompanied by fever, severe vomiting, or changes in bowel movements, then it's important to see a doctor quickly. Trust your instincts.
