When to transition out of sleep sack?

My baby is almost a year old and still sleeps in a sleep sack. He's starting to stand up in his crib. When is it generally recommended to stop using a sleep sack and switch to just blankets or pajamas?

This is such a tricky one! I'm always worried about SIDS, so the sleep sack felt safe. But my baby is almost walking now, and I'm wondering if it's time. Did anyone else feel really anxious about taking it off? How did your babies adjust?

Beta, it's a natural progression. When your child starts pulling up to stand or tries to climb, that's a good sign it's time. We used lighter blankets in our time, but the idea is to keep them safe and comfortable as they grow. Don't worry too much, you'll know when it's right.

Yaar, I took my son out of the sleep sack when he started pulling himself up to stand in the crib. Actually, it felt a bit scary at first, thinking he might trip. Usually, it's around 12-18 months. You want them to be able to move freely and safely.

My pediatrician advised transitioning out of a sleep sack when a child can stand independently, pull themselves up, or attempt to climb out of the crib. This typically happens between 12 to 18 months, but depends on individual development. It's a safety measure to prevent falls.

When to transition out? When your toddler starts using it as a parachute to escape the crib! 😂 Seriously, when they start standing, walking, or trying to climb. You don't want them tripping. It's one less thing to wrestle them into, so maybe a win-win?

Sleep sacks can be quite an investment, buying different sizes. We transitioned our child out when she started getting very active and trying to climb around 18 months. It made sense practically as well, one less thing to buy and store. Focus on safe sleepwear that allows movement.

When the small child starts moving a lot, like trying to stand or walk in the crib, then it's time to take off the sleep sack. You don't want them to get tangled. Just make sure the room is warm enough with a light cotton sheet. Safety comes first, beta.

My younger cousin was in a sleep sack forever it felt like! My aunt finally took him out when he was like almost 2 and started trying to climb out of his crib. It's when they get too mobile, I guess? You don't want them getting tangled or falling.

We just went through this with our daughter! We transitioned her out of the sleep sack when she was about 15 months and started trying to climb the crib rails. It was a bit of a process, but we started by just using lighter PJs. Safety was our main concern.
