When to take infant in for fever?
My 6-month-old has a fever, around 101. She's otherwise playful, but I'm worried. At what point should I be concerned enough to take her to a doctor or hospital?

Oh, I totally get how scary infant fever can be! It's better to be safe than sorry with little ones. If your baby is under 3 months and has a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, please take them to the doctor right away. For older babies, if the fever is very high, or if they seem unusually drowsy, not feeding well, or have difficulty breathing, don't wait.
I remember the first time my baby had a fever, I panicked so much! But our pediatrician told us a few simple rules. If the baby is under 3 months, any fever is a doctor visit. For older babies, if the fever is over 102F and not coming down with medicine, or if they're very lethargic, that's when you go. Otherwise, keep them hydrated and monitor.
As a friend, I'd say for infants, especially if they're very young (under 3 months), any fever over 100.4°F needs a doctor's check. For older infants, look at how the baby is acting. If they're still playing and feeding, maybe wait a bit. But if they're very sleepy, not drinking, or have a really high fever not responding to paracetamol, then it's time to see the pediatrician.
Infant fever is no joke, and doctors visits can be costly, so you want to go at the right time. For newborns (under 3 months) with any fever above 100.4F, it's an immediate visit. For older infants, if fever is persistent for more than 24-48 hours, or if they're very cranky and not eating, then it's time to see the doc. Better to pay for one visit than multiple due to complications.

Bacha jab chhota ho, toh bukhar se bohot darr lagta hai, haan. Hamare ghar mein toh, agar 3 mahine se chhota bachha hai aur bukhar aa jaye, toh turant doctor ke paas le jaate hain. Agar thoda bada bachha hai aur bukhar tez ho, ya doodh na piye, ya sust rahe, tab bhi bina der kiye doctor ko dikhana chahiye. Maa ka dil toh samajhta hai na.
