When to take 1 year old to doctor for fever?
My 1-year-old has a fever since last night, around 100°F. He's a bit cranky but otherwise playing. When is it necessary to take a 1-year-old to the doctor for a fever?

Oh god, this is my biggest fear! My little one just turned one. I get so worried about fevers. Do you guys also feel this immense panic whenever your baby has even a slight temperature? When should I really rush to the doctor?
Haha, I swear toddlers have a sixth sense for getting sick right before a long weekend. For a 1-year-old, if the fever hits above 102 or they look really miserable, better safe than sorry, just take them. You'll probably end up going for a cough anyway!
Fevers can be unsettling, but often it's the body fighting something off. For a one-year-old, if the fever is high (above 102F/39C) or lasts more than 24 hours, or if they seem very lethargic, it's wise to consult the doctor. Keep them hydrated and comfortable.
Doctor visits and tests can be expensive, so it's good to know when it's really necessary. For a 1-year-old, if it's a mild fever and they are still active and eating, you can observe. But if it goes above 102F, or if they are very irritable/sleepy, it's worth the visit. Don't compromise health to save money.
Usually, we follow the 3-day rule for fevers. If it's a low-grade fever and the child is otherwise playful, just give paracetamol as prescribed and sponge bath. But if it crosses 102F, or if they develop other symptoms like rash or difficulty breathing, immediately see your pediatrician. Simple logic hai.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. My baby is almost one. Is it always necessary to go to the doctor for every fever, even a low one? I sometimes wonder if I'm overreacting. What temperature is considered too high?
I had a scary experience once where my baby's fever shot up very quickly. For a 1-year-old, any fever over 102°F (39°C) warrants a doctor's visit. Also, if they're not drinking, not wetting diapers, or seem very unwell, don't wait. Please get them checked.
