When to stop colon cancer screening?

I've been getting colon cancer screenings regularly since I turned 50, as recommended by my doctor. I'm now 60, and I'm curious if there's an age when I can stop these screenings.

Yaar, honestly, for these serious things, best to just follow your doctor's advice. They actually know your history. Don't stop screenings without talking to them first, it's not worth the risk.

Haan ji, this is a very important question. Generally, they say around 75, but every person is different, na? Better to ask your own doc, what's good for *your* health. My uncle kept going till much later.

Oh, this makes me anxious too. I've heard different ages, and it's confusing. Did anyone else feel like they were told conflicting info? I keep worrying I'll miss something important if I stop too early.

For my father, the doctor said based on his overall health and life expectancy, they could consider stopping around 80. But it was a discussion, not a hard rule. So, get a personalized opinion for sure. Practical approach is key.

Beta, for serious things like this, trust the doctors. Our elders always said to listen to the Vaidya. They have the knowledge. You can maintain a healthy diet with fiber to help, but screening is different.

Ugh, another thing to worry about. My doctor just said 'we'll tell you when to stop.' I'm too tired to even think about it myself, lol. Guess I'll just keep showing up until they kick me out. Honestly, just ask your doc, they have the final say.

See, for us, getting these tests done means spending money and time, so we want to know it's really needed. For colon cancer, it's not something you can just decide to stop. Have a clear discussion with your doctor about the benefits vs risks for your age.

Hello! Many people ask this. The general guideline is often until age 75, but if you have a family history or other risk factors, it might be longer. Your doctor is the best person to give you a clear answer based on your individual health profile. Stay well!

Please don't ignore medical advice on screenings. I once delayed a checkup and regretted it terribly. This is about prevention. Always ask your doctor directly when it's safe for *you* to stop. Better safe than sorry.

I have high BP, so I'm very strict with my health checkups. For colon screening, my doctor said it depends on my general health, not just age. Keep up with your regular checkups and discuss it with your GP.

It's tough, right? Thinking about these things can be heavy. Don't feel bad about wanting to stop, but also know that protecting your health is important. Talk to your doctor openly about your concerns; it helped me a lot.

Being someone with a chronic condition like PCOS, I've learned not to make assumptions about stopping any medical test. Please, please talk to your doctor. They will look at your whole health picture and guide you best, no shortcuts here.
