When to start sleep training infant?

My wife and I are struggling a lot with our infant's sleep schedule. We've heard about sleep training, but we don't know when is the right time to begin with an infant.

Around 4-6 months is usually when most babies are ready for sleep training. They can self-soothe a bit and don't need night feeds as frequently. Consistency is key, whatever method you choose. Just be prepared for a few rough nights initially.

Dhairyapurvak aur shanti se yeh prakriya shuru karein. Jab aapka shishu 4-6 mahine ka ho jaaye aur raat mein kam doodh peene lage, tab yeh sahi samay ho sakta hai. Mann ko shaant rakhein aur vishwas karein, sab accha hoga.

It's best when your baby is around 4 to 6 months old and is able to go longer between feeds. Every baby is different, so watch for your infant's cues. You've got this, mama.

I'm thinking of starting around 5 months. Is it really that hard? I'm so worried about the crying. Did anyone else feel really guilty during the process?

My mother-in-law said to start when baby is 6 months, but my doctor advised around 4 months if baby is thriving. I followed the doctor's advice, and it worked well for us. It's good to listen to elders but always cross-check with your doctor, no?

Ideally, consult your pediatrician first. They usually recommend starting when the baby is developmentally ready, which is often around 4-6 months. Your doctor can guide you on the best method and what to expect based on your baby's health and feeding habits.
