When to go to urgent care for back pain?

I've had chronic lower back pain for a few months now because of my desk job. Lately, it's gotten worse, and sometimes it shoots down my leg. I'm wondering if I should wait for my regular doctor's appointment or go to urgent care for this kind of back pain.

I always overthink back pain, wondering if it's just muscle strain or something worse. But if it's excruciating, came on suddenly after an injury, or you're experiencing numbness, weakness, or trouble controlling your bladder/bowels, please don't just worry. Head to urgent care. They can check for nerve compression or other serious issues.

Back pain can be tricky. If it's sudden, very severe, or accompanied by numbness/weakness in your legs, bladder/bowel issues, or fever, go to urgent care. It's crucial to rule out serious issues, just like how important regular tests are for managing my thyroid condition. Don't ignore these signs.

My orthopedist advised that if back pain is severe and sudden, or if it comes with numbness, tingling, or weakness in your arms or legs, or any changes in bowel/bladder function, you should go to urgent care. These symptoms can indicate a serious spinal issue like a herniated disc or nerve compression that needs prompt medical evaluation.

Haan, agar back pain itna zyada hai ki chalna mushkil ho raha hai, ya koi numbness aa gayi hai legs mein, toh urgent care jaana chahiye. Na, don't wait for it to get worse, especially if you also have fever. Might be something serious.

Beta, I've had my share of backaches. Most of the time, rest and a hot compress help. But if the pain is unbearable, or if you feel weak in your legs, or if you suddenly can't control your pee or poop, that's when you must go to urgent care. Don't delay for these serious signs.

I once had a sudden back pain that made me panic, thinking it was something very serious. Turned out to be just a bad strain! But if your pain is accompanied by fever, or if you lose feeling in your legs, or have any bladder control issues, then absolutely go to urgent care. Otherwise, maybe try some rest and stretches first, but don't ignore red flags.
