When to go to hospital for tooth pain?

I have a toothache that started suddenly and is excruciatingly painful, almost unbearable. It's making my jaw swell, and I'm not able to close my mouth properly. Should I go to the hospital for this kind of severe tooth pain?

Don't be like me and ignore it! I had a mild toothache once and thought it would go away. Ended up with a nasty infection and a much more complicated procedure. If it's severe, throbbing, or you see swelling, just go to the dentist. Don't wait for a hospital.

Usually, a severe toothache needs a dentist, not a hospital, unless it's an emergency. If you have swelling spreading to your face or neck, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or a fever along with the pain, that's when you head to the emergency room. Otherwise, call your dentist immediately.

A persistent or severe toothache is a clear sign to consult a dentist. However, if the pain is accompanied by fever, facial swelling, trouble opening your mouth, or difficulty breathing, those are red flags. In such cases, an emergency room visit is advisable to rule out serious infections.

Honestly, if the pain is keeping you up at night, or if it feels like it's spreading to your jaw or ear, please get it checked. Especially if you see any pus or a nasty taste in your mouth. Better safe than sorry when it comes to infections.

Ho na, tooth pain can be really bad. If you have fever with it, ya if your jaw is very swollen and you can't open your mouth properly, then don't wait. Hospital jaana padega. Otherwise, haan na, a good dentist can usually fix it.

Yaar, if the pain is too much to handle with painkillers, and your face is swelling up, then go to the hospital. Actually, any signs of infection spreading, like fever or trouble swallowing, means it's serious. Otherwise, dentist is the first stop.
