When to go to hospital for migraine?

I often get migraines, but this one is accompanied by speech difficulty and weakness on one side of my body. My wife is panicking and thinks I should go to the hospital. Are these signs serious enough for urgent medical attention?

Honestly, if it's so bad you can't even open your eyes and the usual painkillers aren't touching it, that's my cue. Been there, done that, usually means I'm severely sleep-deprived. My body just gives up.

Hey! So if your migraine comes with new symptoms like weakness on one side of your body, vision changes that are really severe, or a very stiff neck, you should definitely get it checked. Also, if it's the worst headache of your life, don't wait.

I get so scared sometimes. If my migraine feels different than usual, like suddenly way more intense or I feel dizzy, I always wonder if it's serious. Has anyone else felt that specific fear? Like, is this *the* one that's worse?

Child, if your body is giving you such a strong signal, listen to it. Take care of yourself first. Sometimes we just need professional help. Stay positive and remember that this too shall pass, but get proper care if needed.

Going to hospital for migraine can be expensive with all the tests they might do. I'd say if OTC meds don't work after a few hours and you can't function at all, then maybe. But think if it's worth the ER bill or if a clinic visit is enough first, especially if you know your triggers.

Look, with something like migraine, there's too much bad info online. Don't trust every home remedy you read. If your usual treatment isn't working or the pain is unbearable, you need to see a doctor. They'll actually diagnose and treat, not just guess.

Oh, I totally get it, migraines are the worst. If you have any neurological symptoms that are new, like speech problems or one-sided numbness, please don't delay. Or if the pain becomes sudden and explosive, that's a red flag too.

I'm new to all this, so sorry if it's a basic question. But what if it's just very intense pain, but no other symptoms? Like, just super bad headache, enough to make you lie down. Is that also a hospital trip or only if it comes with other things?

For me, if I've thrown up multiple times because of the pain, or if I feel really confused or disoriented, that's when I know it's beyond just a bad headache. It's so draining, totally get it. Hydrate properly till you can reach a doc.

Haan, if it's a migraine that's really not letting you function, like you can't even see properly ya feel like passing out, toh you should go. Na, don't wait for it to get even worse. Sometimes hospital mein injection se relief mil jaata hai jaldi.
