When to go to er for migraine?

I get migraines occasionally, but this one is really severe, with blurry vision and extreme sensitivity to light. My usual pain killers aren't working, and I'm not sure if this warrants an emergency room visit or if I should just wait it out.

When your migraine makes you want to live in a dark cave and even the thought of light or sound sends shivers down your spine, that's almost ER time! But seriously, if it's the worst headache of your life, sudden, or comes with weakness, numbness, or vision changes, don't try to be a superhero, just go to the ER. They have the good stuff.

A calm mind helps, but sometimes the body needs more. For migraines, if the pain is unlike any you've had before, or if you suddenly develop numbness, weakness, confusion, or vision loss, then it is important to go to the emergency room immediately. Take care of your body, it is a temple. Stay positive and seek help when needed.

Migraines can be incredibly frightening, and it's natural to feel anxious about them. If your migraine is the worst headache you've ever experienced, comes on suddenly like a thunderclap, or is accompanied by confusion, weakness on one side of your body, or changes in vision that are completely new, please don't hesitate to go to the ER. It's better to be safe and rule out anything serious.

While regular exercise can sometimes reduce migraine frequency, an acute, severe attack needs medical attention. If your migraine is sudden and extremely severe, or if you're experiencing neurological symptoms like speech difficulties, weakness on one side, or vision changes, it's not a regular headache. Head to the ER for a thorough check-up. Post-recovery, you can slowly get back to your routine.

I get migraines sometimes and it makes me so worried. Does anyone else feel like their head is splitting? But I heard if it's a completely new kind of headache, or if you suddenly can't see properly or feel weak, you should go to the ER. Is that true for everyone, or just some people? I always feel like I'm overreacting.

Migraines can be costly if you need repeated ER visits. But if it's a 'worst headache of your life' situation, or you have symptoms like confusion, weakness, or difficulty speaking, don't think about the bill, just go. They will do scans to rule out serious conditions. Once stable, you can plan with your doctor for affordable long-term migraine management.
