When to go to emergency with fever?

My elderly father has a persistent fever, and he's also looking very weak and disoriented. We've tried home remedies, but it's not improving. When is it time to go to the emergency with fever, especially for an older person?

Fever can be so scary, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious when it's high. If your fever is really, really high (like 104F or above), or if you're confused, having trouble breathing, a terrible headache, or if you get a rash, please don't hesitate. You deserve immediate care and reassurance, so going to the emergency is absolutely valid.

Beta, humare zamane mein toh itne hospitals nahi the, par ab hain. Agar bukhar bahut tezz ho, bachcha ya koi bada bechaen ho, ya saans lene mein takleef ho, toh bilkul mat ruko. Emergency mein jaao. Bhagwan pe bharosa rakho aur doctor ki baat suno. Sab theek ho jayega.

I always get so worried when fever gets high. For an adult, is 103F enough to go to emergency, or does it have to be like 104F and above? And what if I feel very weak but the temperature isn't that high? I just get so anxious about making the right decision.

Humare yahan toh agar bukhar 103-104 ho jaye aur aadmi bahut kamzor ho jaye, ya saans phoolne lage, tab log seedha bade hospital jaate hain. Kabhi kabhi toh bacche bhi bahut zyada bimar ho jaate hain. Aise mein ghar pe rukna theek nahi hai, emergency mein hi jaana chahiye.

I can only share what I've done. If my fever hits 104F or if I'm extremely disoriented, having trouble breathing, or develop a sudden, spreading rash, I wouldn't hesitate to go to the emergency. It's about how you feel and the severity of symptoms, not just the number on the thermometer. But this is just my approach, please consult a medical professional for advice.
