When to call pediatrician for fever?

My 8-month-old baby has a fever of 101.5°F. I've given her a sponge bath and some paracetamol drops, but it's not going down much. When should I call our pediatrician for a fever in an infant, especially with specific symptoms or temperature?

For little ones, it's very important to watch carefully. If the fever is very high, or if the child is not active, not eating, or seems very tired, you should definitely call the pediatrician. You can try a cool cloth on the forehead first, but if it doesn't help, don't delay the doctor.

I used to panic with every little sniffle for my first kid! But I've learned that for fever, if your baby is under 3 months and has any fever, call the pediatrician right away. For older kids, if it's over 102°F and they're very cranky, lethargic, or not drinking fluids, then it's time to call. Often it's just a viral, but better safe.

Haan, chote bacchon ka mamla sensitive hota hai na. Agar bachcha bahut restless hai, ya 102°F se upar fever hai, ya saans lene mein dikkat ho rahi hai, toh pediatrician ko phone karne mein der mat karo. Jaldi dikhana chahiye.

Honestly, if my kid's fever is high enough to ruin my sleep for more than one night, the pediatrician is getting a call. Kidding (mostly!). But seriously, if they're lethargic, not drinking, or if the fever just won't break with meds, then it's call-the-doc time. Sleepless nights are part of parenting, but not at the expense of health.

With children, gentle care is essential. Observe their overall well-being, not just the temperature. If they are very uncomfortable, restless, or showing any difficulty in breathing, it's a sign to consult the pediatrician. Keeping them calm and hydrated is also very important.

It's always best to call the pediatrician if your child has a very high fever, or if they seem unusually unwell. Trust your motherly instinct.
