When should infant sleep in own room?

My baby is 4 months old now, and we're thinking about moving him to his own room soon. What's the right age or stage when an infant should start sleeping separately from parents?

Ji, I am also thinking about this for my baby. I read somewhere that keeping them in the same room is safer for the first six months. Is that true? And what if the baby cries a lot when alone?

In our culture, family often keeps the baby in the parents' room for a long time, sometimes even a year. But modern doctors usually recommend room-sharing, not bed-sharing, for at least the first six months, or even up to a year, to reduce SIDS risk. It's best to discuss with your pediatrician to see what is right for your family.

After our baby's initial health issues, we were very careful. Our pediatrician strongly advised room-sharing for the first six months, or even a year, for safety reasons like monitoring breathing and reducing SIDS risk. Moving them to their own room before that might be risky. Always follow your doctor's professional advice on this.

As someone who manages diabetes, I'm always very mindful of healthy habits. For infants, healthcare guidelines often recommend keeping the baby in the parents' room, in their own crib, for at least the first six months, and ideally up to a year. This helps with monitoring and reduces certain risks. Consult your pediatrician for what suits your situation.

Hey, it's a big step! Most pediatric guidelines recommend room-sharing (baby in a separate crib/bassinet in your room) for at least the first six months, and ideally up to a year. This helps with SIDS prevention and makes nighttime feeding easier. You can consider their own room after that, when you feel comfortable and they're ready.

We just moved our baby to her own room a couple of months ago, she's now 9 months old. The pediatrician said it's safest to have them in your room (but in their own bassinet/crib) for the first 6-12 months to reduce SIDS risk. So we waited till then. It was tough but it worked out!

Uh, my cousin just had a baby, and they kept the baby in their room in a separate crib for like, almost a year, I think? They said it's safer and easier for feedings. I guess it depends on when you feel okay with it and what the doctor says. No rush, I guess.
