When should a diabetic with covid go to the hospital?

My brother has diabetes and recently tested positive for COVID-19. He has mild symptoms, but we're keeping a close eye on him. At what point should we consider taking him to the hospital, considering his diabetes?

For diabetics with COVID, the threshold for hospitalisation can be lower than for non-diabetics. If blood sugar is uncontrolled, showing signs of difficulty breathing, persistent chest pain, confusion, or lips/face turning bluish, it's an immediate hospital trip. Don't wait for it to get worse, better safe than sorry.

Oh, this is something I've worried about a lot! My uncle is diabetic. If his oxygen levels drop even a little, or his sugar goes really high or low, should he go immediately? It's so confusing to know when to decide. Has anyone else experienced this dilemma?

Bro, if you're diabetic and have COVID, don't mess around. If breathing gets hard, chest pain, or your sugar levels are totally out of whack and not coming down, just go to the hospital. Don't try to manage it at home, it's too risky. Better safe than sorry, ya know?

I totally get how scary this situation can be. If you're diabetic and have COVID, watch out for signs like extreme fatigue, trouble breathing, persistent fever, or if your blood sugar is really difficult to control. Any of these mean it's time to seek immediate medical attention, don't delay.

My doctor advised that for a diabetic with COVID, immediate hospitalization is needed if there's significant shortness of breath, oxygen saturation below 94%, persistent chest pain, new confusion, or inability to control blood sugar despite home management. Also, any signs of diabetic ketoacidosis should prompt emergency care.

Okay, so when a diabetic with COVID needs to go to the hospital? When their body decides it's had enough of fighting two battles at once and starts sending SOS signals! Jokes aside, serious symptoms like breathing difficulty or really wonky sugar levels mean it's time to call in the pros, no heroic home remedies.
