When is hay fever season?
My allergies have been really acting up lately, especially around certain times of the year. I think it might be hay fever. When is the hay fever season usually in India, or generally, so I can be prepared?

Oh, hay fever is so irritating, I feel you! It usually starts around spring when trees release pollen, and then goes through summer with grass pollen. In India, it can be a bit different depending on the region and what plants are around. Sometimes even monsoon brings new triggers. Trying nasal rinses and local honey helped me a bit.
Hay fever season depends on what pollen you're allergic to. Tree pollen is usually early spring, grass pollen in late spring/early summer, and weed pollen in late summer/fall. No specific 'season' for India like western countries. If it's bothering you much, maybe consider getting an allergy test, but those can be a bit costly, so plan ahead.
Basically, it's whenever the plants you're allergic to are releasing pollen. So for some, it's spring, for others it's summer or even autumn. No fixed time. Just keep an eye on when your symptoms typically start and end.
I'm also trying to understand this. Is it only in spring, or can it be other times too? Like, if I get cold-like symptoms in monsoon, could that also be hay fever? It's all so confusing.
Hay fever timing is highly localized and depends on specific allergen availability. In many parts of India, it can be tricky as flowering seasons are spread out. To manage it effectively and save time, track your symptoms over a year and identify your specific triggers. Consult an allergist for precise identification, then you can prepare in advance.
Hay fever can be really frustrating, can't it? It feels like it lasts forever when you're going through it. The timing really varies by region and what you're allergic to, but typically in India, it can be linked to flowering seasons or even dust in certain months. It's tough, but remember to be kind to yourself.
Arre beta, this hay fever, it’s all about the weather and what's growing around. In my time, we just called it 'sardi-khasi' but it was the same. Some people get it when mango trees bloom, some during wheat harvesting. It comes and goes. Just keep your windows closed during peak pollen time and try to stay indoors if it's very bad. It'll pass.
For me, it's usually peak March-April when the spring flowers are out, and then again around September-October when the autumn plants dry up and release pollen. I just recovered from a bad bout last month. It really depends on your city's local flora. Best to get an allergy test to know your exact triggers.
