When does a tb skin test expire?

My workplace requires regular health checks, and I had a TB skin test a while ago. I'm not sure if it's still valid. When does a TB skin test typically expire?

Expire? Like milk? 😂 Seriously though, the reading of a TB skin test is time-sensitive. You have to get it read by a healthcare professional within 48 to 72 hours. After that, the results aren't reliable. No extension, even if you're super sleepy!

The TB skin test (Mantoux test) does not 'expire' itself, but the result needs to be read within a specific window. It must be checked by a healthcare provider 48 to 72 hours after it's administered for accurate interpretation. Observing this time frame is important for clarity.

A TB skin test (PPD or Mantoux) does not have an 'expiration date' in the traditional sense. However, its effectiveness in indicating a potential TB infection is limited by the time frame for reading the results. It must be read by a trained professional between 48 and 72 hours after administration for accuracy. Beyond this window, the result is not considered valid, and a re-test may be required.

Haha, the TB skin test doesn't exactly 'expire' like food! 😅 But the results need to be read by a healthcare person within 48 to 72 hours of getting the injection. If you wait longer, the result might not be accurate, and you'll probably have to get it done again! So don't forget to go for the reading! 😉

It's not that the test 'expires,' but you need to get it checked within 48 to 72 hours after it's given. If you miss that window, the doctor might ask you to repeat it because the reaction won't be reliable anymore. Make sure to schedule the follow-up appointment properly!

It's not about expiration, it's about the reading window. You HAVE to get it read by a trained professional within 48 to 72 hours after injection. If you miss that, the result is invalid, and you'll need another test. Set a reminder for yourself!
