When do yellow jackets sleep?

My son is doing a project on insects and was asking me about yellow jackets. He wants to know about their habits. Do yellow jackets sleep, and if so, when do they usually do it?

Yellow jackets are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day. They typically return to their nests to rest and 'sleep' during the night. So, basically, they sleep when it's dark.

Dude, yellow jackets are active during the day. So, they go back to their nests and sleep at night, just like us. You won't usually see them flying around after dark.

Yellow jackets are diurnal insects, meaning their active period is during daylight hours. They typically retreat to their nests at night to rest. So, they effectively 'sleep' during the night, reducing activity until sunrise.

Yellow jackets? They sleep when I wish I could, at night! They are busy bothering people all day, so night time is for them to chill in their nest. Good for them, bad for my allergies when they're awake!

Yellow jackets are active in the daytime and sleep in their nests at night. It's good to know such things to avoid them. Just like it's important to pay attention to small health symptoms and get them checked early, don't ignore things.
