When do newborns sleep longer at night?

My baby is almost 3 months old now, and the night feeds are still quite frequent. My MIL says her kids slept longer very early on. Just wondering, when do newborns usually start sleeping for more than just a couple of hours at night?

Haan beta, every child is different. But usually, by 3-4 months, they start stretching their sleep to 4-5 hours at night. Some even earlier, some later. We used to sing lullabies and gently massage their feet, saying it helps calm them. But mainly, they need to grow a little to hold their feed longer.

Oh, I'm expecting soon and this is a big worry! So, like, by 4 months they can sleep a good 5-6 hours? What if they don't? Is that a problem?

Longer? What's that? Haha! My baby is 2 months and I'm still living on coffee and dreams of sleep. But yeah, everyone says around 3-4 months they give you maybe 4-5 hours. Sounds like a luxury right now!

Generally, between 3 to 6 months is when they start sleeping longer stretches at night. It's a gradual process, not a sudden switch. Consistency with bedtime routine helps a lot. Don't expect 12 hours straight right away though!

I was super stressed when my baby wasn't sleeping much for the first few months. Thought something was wrong! But around 3-4 months, he slowly started extending his night sleep to 4-5 hours. It felt like a huge relief. It's totally normal for it to take time, don't worry.
