When do most infants sleep through the night?

Our little one is almost six months old but still wakes up every few hours. My wife is exhausted. Around what age do most infants finally start sleeping through the night?

Bete, every child is different, but generally, after 3-4 months, they start to sleep longer. Sometimes giving a little warm oil massage before bath and then a full feed helps them sleep soundly. Consistency is key. Our elders always said routine is important.

My friends with babies say it's like a dream for the first few months! But usually, around 4 to 6 months, many infants start getting longer stretches of sleep, like 6-8 hours. It really depends on the baby and their feeding schedule. Just keep trying to establish a good bedtime routine.

According to the baby sleep trackers and articles I've read, most infants start consolidating sleep and going for longer stretches around 4-6 months. This is when their circadian rhythm develops more. Creating a consistent sleep environment and routine, much like we plan our fitness, really helps.

While the exact timing varies greatly from infant to infant, generally, babies develop the ability to sleep for longer periods, around 6-8 hours, between 4 to 6 months of age. It's largely due to their developing digestive system. However, always consult your pediatrician for personalized advice on your baby's sleep patterns.

Here in our families, we often say babies start sleeping longer when they are well-fed and comfortable. Usually around 4-6 months, when they are bigger. My mother-in-law had many tips, but our pediatrician's advice was always the final word. Every baby is a little different, ma.

My nephew started sleeping through the night quite early, around 3 months, but my niece took much longer, almost a year! So, from my observation, there's really no fixed time. It's more about the individual baby. Just focus on making them comfortable and fed.
