When do infants sleep longer?
Our little one is a month old and still sleeps in short bursts. My wife and I are quite tired. Around what age do infants start to sleep for longer stretches at night?

My daughter started giving me longer stretches of sleep around 4-5 months, but then teething happened and it was back to square one! So yeah, it's not a linear journey. Every baby is so different, you just have to observe yours.
It's so important to not ignore these things, even with babies. While every infant is different, if you're seriously concerned about sleep patterns, please talk to your pediatrician. Don't wait like I did with some other issues, it's better to get a professional opinion early.
Haha, 'longer' is a relative term when you have a baby! I think it was around 6 months for us when we started getting like, 4-5 hours continuously, and that felt like heaven! But honestly, I still wake up at every little sound. Sleep is a luxury now!
When they're full and happy, like after a good, hearty meal! 😉 Kidding aside, when they start solids around 6 months and can get enough calories during the day, they usually start sleeping longer. Less hungry tummies, more sleep!
Generally, after they cross the 3-4 month mark, their sleep cycles mature. And once you introduce some solids around 6 months, their tummies can sustain them longer. A good routine also helps a lot, like a warm bath and then feeding before bed.

It's different for every child, but if you have any concerns about their growth or development related to sleep, always consult a pediatrician. Just like with my thyroid, I always emphasize regular check-ups and not to delay when it comes to health. Early intervention is always better.
Oh, the sleep deprivation is real! I tried everything from ghutti to gentle massages. What really helped for my grandkid was establishing a consistent bedtime routine around 4-5 months. A little oil massage, warm bath, feeding, then bed. Consistency is key, dear.
