This is a safety concern, like how we monitor our sugar levels carefully. From what I've read and heard, it's generally advised to wait until a baby is at least 12 months old before introducing loose blankets to their crib. Before that, sleep sacks are much safer.
OMG, definitely not when they're super tiny! My cousin just had a baby, and everyone keeps saying no loose blankets because of suffocation risk. Best to stick to sleep sacks or swaddles for the first year, I think. Better safe than sorry for the little ones.
My pediatrician was very clear on this: no blankets, pillows, or any soft bedding in the crib until the baby is at least one year old. This is to reduce the risk of SIDS and suffocation. They recommended using wearable blankets or sleep sacks instead to keep the baby warm safely.
Caring for a little one requires great vigilance and love. For their safety and peace of mind, it is generally recommended to avoid loose blankets for babies under one year. May your child be blessed with peaceful and safe sleep.
