What was being studied in baileys deep sleep therapy?

I was reading an old medical journal about Baileys Deep Sleep Therapy and found it quite intriguing. Can anyone shed some light on what exactly was being studied in this therapy?

Baileys deep sleep therapy sounds like a very old, almost extreme method. For something this serious, I would always say to rely on modern medicine. Just like with my BP, regular checkups and doctor's advice are the only way, not old, potentially risky methods.

I totally get why you'd be curious about deep sleep therapy. It sounds intense! From what I vaguely recall, it was more about using medication to induce prolonged unconsciousness, often for mental health conditions, but it had a lot of controversy around it.

Deep sleep therapy, especially in the context of historical practices like Baileys, involved prolonged drug-induced unconsciousness. It was used for conditions like severe depression, but it's largely discredited now due to safety concerns and ethical issues. Always good to stick to current, evidence-based treatments.

Oh, Baileys deep sleep therapy refers to a very old technique from the mid-20th century. It involved sedating patients for extended periods, sometimes days or weeks, using barbiturates. The idea was to 'reset' the brain, especially for psychiatric issues, but it had significant risks and is not practiced today.

Yaar, that 'deep sleep therapy' thing from Baileys was actually pretty controversial. They'd sedate people for a long time, sometimes weeks, with drugs, thinking it would help with mental health. But it had a lot of bad side effects and isn't used anymore. Thank God for modern medicine, haan?

That sounds like a very intense treatment from the past. For any health issue, new or old, it's always best to rely on what your doctor says is safe and effective today. Just like how I manage my sugar, consistency and proper medical guidance are key, not some extreme past methods.

I think Baileys deep sleep therapy was an older, somewhat extreme method. It's not something used anymore, as far as I know. It's always good to be informed about medical history.
