What virus causes fever blisters?

I get these painful fever blisters around my mouth sometimes, especially when I'm stressed. I've always wondered what causes them. Can someone tell me what virus causes fever blisters?

Beta, these fever blisters, or cold sores as some call them, are usually caused by the herpes simplex virus. I remember my dadi used to say apply a little bit of aloe vera or a cold compress. But if it's too painful or keeps coming back, then it is better to show it to a doctor.

Oh god, fever blisters are so annoying and can be painful! I always worry about them spreading. It's usually HSV-1. Just remember to not pick at them and keep your hands clean. It's common, so don't feel too bad, but do see a doc if they're severe.

Yeah, usually HSV-1 causes those. I find that when I'm consistent with my workouts and eating well, my immunity is better and I get them less often. Stress can trigger them too, so gotta keep that in check. Hydration also helps recovery.

Fever blisters are usually caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus. While often harmless, if they're very painful, don't heal, or keep recurring, please get them checked by a doctor. It's always safer to have a medical opinion.

I get these sometimes when I'm stressed or run down. It's HSV-1, right? Do they feel super tingly and itchy for everyone before they come out? I always feel like everyone stares at them when I get one near my lip.

Most commonly, it's the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV-1). It's quite common. You can get some over-the-counter creams that help dry them out and heal faster. Keep it clean and try not to touch it too much, that's what works for me.
