What type of cancer is melanoma?

I spend a lot of time outdoors for my work, and I'm always told to protect my skin from the sun. I know skin cancer is a risk, especially melanoma. What type of cancer is melanoma?

Hello, I'm new here. From what I've heard, melanoma is a very serious type of skin cancer. It starts in the cells that make pigment, the ones that give your skin color. Is it true it can spread quickly if not caught early?

Melanoma is skin cancer. Period. And a particularly aggressive one. Don't go searching for some 'natural cures' or 'internet remedies'. If you suspect anything, ONLY a dermatologist can diagnose it correctly. Please, for your own good, verify everything with a medical professional.

Beta, melanoma is the type of skin cancer that can be very aggressive. My aunt had something suspicious on her arm many years ago, and the doctor removed it just in time. The main thing is to keep an eye on your moles and any new spots. If something changes, don't worry too much, just go to the doctor quickly.

Melanoma is a serious skin cancer. I've tried many things for various skin issues over the years, but for something like this, home remedies are absolutely NOT the way to go. You need to see a skin specialist immediately if you have any suspicious spots. Better safe than sorry, always.

Melanoma is serious skin cancer. Don't waste time trying to figure it out yourself. If you notice any suspicious moles or skin changes – uneven color, irregular borders, growing size – get it checked by a dermatologist ASAP. Early detection is crucial here, like with most cancers.

Melanoma is indeed a form of skin cancer, and it's considered the most dangerous because of its potential to spread. It originates in the pigment-producing cells. While self-awareness is good, professional medical advice from a dermatologist is absolutely essential for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Melanoma is a severe form of skin cancer that comes from pigment-producing cells. While diet helps overall health, for specific conditions like this, food alone won't cure it. Protection from sun is important, and for diagnosis and treatment, only a medical expert can guide properly.

Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. It develops in the melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin. With my BP, I've learned that regular checkups are key, and same goes for skin issues. If you notice a changing mole, get it checked by a doctor right away, don't delay.
