What turns yellow first with liver failure?

My neighbour has been quite ill recently, and the doctor suspects liver problems. We're trying to watch for any symptoms. What part of the body or symptom typically turns yellow first if someone is experiencing liver failure?

From my experience, the first thing I noticed was my eyes looking a bit yellow, especially the whites. Then, over a few days, my skin started to get a yellowish tinge. It was due to jaundice from liver issues. Please get checked if you are seeing this.

The whites of your eyes (sclera) usually turn yellow first, followed by the skin. It's called jaundice.

Usually, the first sign is a yellowish tint in the eyes, then the skin. This yellowing, called jaundice, is a serious indicator that the liver is not functioning well. Don't try to treat it with home remedies; it requires proper medical diagnosis and treatment from a doctor.

When the liver is failing, the whites of the eyes and then the skin turn yellow due to bilirubin buildup. This is a very serious symptom. To support liver health generally, I always focus on a clean, plant-based diet, avoiding processed foods. But for this kind of symptom, a doctor's visit is non-negotiable.

In liver failure, it's typically the whites of the eyes (sclera) that start looking yellow first, then your skin. This is due to a buildup of bilirubin in the blood because the liver isn't processing it properly. It's a clear sign of jaundice and needs immediate medical evaluation.

My grandmother always used to say that if your eyes or skin turn yellow, it's a sign your liver needs attention. It's the bilirubin building up. But these days, we have good doctors, so please don't delay seeing one if you notice this.
