What to take for fever?

Woke up with a slight fever this morning, nothing too high, but I feel generally unwell. I have an important meeting today. What's a common over-the-counter thing people take for fever?

Fever can be really worrying, I always start overthinking what it could be. It's best to consult a doctor to understand the cause. Meanwhile, maybe some paracetamol for relief and plenty of fluids? Don't stress too much but do get it checked.

Ah, fever! The body's way of telling you, 'Okay, I'm taking a mini-vacation, don't bother me!' 😂 Seriously, though, just rest up, drink lots of water, and maybe a paracetamol. And if it's too high, let a real doctor spoil the 'vacation' and check it out!

When you have a fever, light, easily digestible food is best. Think clear vegetable broths, dal khichdi, or plain idli. Avoid anything heavy or spicy. Lots of fluids like warm water, herbal teas, and fresh fruit juices are also very important to keep hydrated. Of course, do consult a doctor for medicines.

My doctor always advises for fever that if it's above 100°F (38°C), take a paracetamol tablet. Also, crucial to keep yourself hydrated with ORS, coconut water, or fresh juices. They also emphasized avoiding cold baths; lukewarm sponge baths are better to bring the temperature down. Don't ignore it if it lasts more than 2-3 days.

For fever, taking a paracetamol (like Crocin or Dolo) is a common initial step to manage symptoms. However, it's crucial to consult a doctor to identify the underlying cause, especially if the fever is high, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms. Rest and hydration are also key.
