What to say to someone with terminal cancer?

My elder sister has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and it's a very difficult time for our family. When I visit her, I often struggle to find the right words to say. I want to convey my love and support without upsetting her further.

It's so normal to feel a huge wave of anxiety and sadness in such a situation. The most important thing is to acknowledge their reality without giving false hope. Say 'I love you' and 'Thank you for all the precious moments.' Ask if there's anything you can do to bring them comfort or joy in their remaining time. Just be present.

I would never give medical advice. But from my own experience with loved ones, I'd just sit and hold their hand. I'd say 'I love you so much,' and 'Thank you for all the memories.' I'd ask if they want to talk about anything or just be quiet. The most important thing is to just be there.

Haan, this is really sad news. Just tell them 'I love you, and I'm so grateful for all the time we've had.' Na, don't talk about 'fighting' or miracles, just be there to listen. Ask if there's anything they want to do or talk about. Just be a peaceful presence.

This is heartbreaking. Focus on love, gratitude, and comfort. Tell them 'I love you, and you've made a beautiful impact on my life.' Ask what brings them joy now, and if it's food-related, maybe offer to get them their favorite comfort meal, keeping dietary needs in mind. It's about fulfilling their wishes and ensuring peace.

This is tough, but try to bring some light. Say 'I cherish you so much, and I'm here for whatever makes you smile today!' 😊 Maybe share a funny, fond memory. Let them know they're loved and celebrated, not just sick. Sending hugs! 🤗

In this situation, avoid any 'miracle cures' or internet remedies. That's just cruel. Be honest and loving. Say 'I'm so sorry this is happening. I love you, and I'm here for you, always.' Just presence and genuine care, verified by what they need, not what random sources suggest.
