What to put on fever blister scab?

My fever blister has finally scabbed over, but now it's really dry and tight, and I'm worried about picking at it accidentally. What can I put on a fever blister scab to keep it moisturized and help it heal smoothly?

Haan, scab ban gaya toh ab zyada kuch nahi, na? Just keep it moisturized so it doesn't crack and bleed. Petroleum jelly works fine. Aur haan, no picking it, it will heal faster on its own.

While diet supports healing, for a scab, focus on gentle care. I would apply a very thin layer of petroleum jelly or a specific healing ointment to keep it from cracking. Avoid anything acidic or irritating in your food too, that might touch it.

For a fever blister scab, especially important for diabetics to prevent infection, keep it very clean. A thin layer of petroleum jelly can help keep it from cracking. But if there's any sign of infection, like redness or pus, please see your doctor immediately. Healing can be slower with diabetes.

A little bit of plain petroleum jelly can help keep it soft and prevent cracking. Just be gentle with it while it heals.

When my fever blister scabbed, I just kept it really clean and gently applied a thin layer of my regular lip balm to keep it from getting dry and cracking. I made sure not to pick at it. It eventually fell off on its own.
