What to give someone who is vomiting?

My younger brother has been down with a stomach bug since morning and keeps throwing up. He's feeling very weak and can't keep anything down. What can I give him to help him feel a little better and stay hydrated?

When my kids vomit, I first ensure they are hydrated with ORS, small sips frequently. I usually avoid giving any solid food for a few hours. Then slowly introduce bland foods like plain curd rice or khichdi. If it's persistent, a doctor's visit is important.

First, rehydrate with electrolytes. Avoid heavy foods. Once the vomiting stops and you feel a bit better, if the doctor allows, a short, gentle walk can sometimes help settle the stomach and boost circulation. But listen to your body, don't push it.

For vomiting, it's critical to prevent dehydration. Small, frequent sips of ORS is the best first step. When you visit your doctor, ask them clearly about anti-emetics and also what to eat and avoid for the next few days. Don't hesitate to ask specific questions about your condition.

Sabse pehle toh ORS paani, bahut zaroori hai. Ghar pe nimbu paani aur thoda namak cheeni mix karke bhi de sakte ho agar ORS nahi hai. Khana bilkul halka, jaise dahi-chawal ya dalia. Aur rest karo. Zyada ho toh doctor ko dikha do, faltu kharcha nahi karna hai baad mein.

Oh, I totally get it, vomiting is such a miserable experience! It's so hard to keep anything down. Just try to offer sips of clear liquids like ginger ale or ORS. Small, frequent sips are key. And just be there for them, comfort goes a long way.
