What to feed toddler with fever?

My toddler has a fever since morning, and he's not eating anything properly. I'm trying to give him small meals, but he just pushes them away. What kind of food should I offer him to keep his energy up?

When a toddler has a fever, the most important thing is to keep them hydrated. Offer plenty of fluids like ORS, clear soups, coconut water, or diluted fruit juices. For food, keep it light and easy to digest: soft khichdi, plain dal, curd rice, or mashed bananas. Don't force them to eat if they're not hungry.

Poor munchkin with a fever! Forget gourmet. Stick to the classics: piping hot, light dal-chawal, maybe some soft idli, or a comforting bowl of sabudana khichdi if they like it. Anything easy on the tummy and soothing. Hydration is key too!

With fever, appetite is usually low. Don't force food. Focus on fluids like ORS or plain water. When they do feel like eating, offer small portions of plain, easy-to-digest foods like khichdi, plain oats, or thin vegetable soup. Avoid anything heavy or fried.

My toddler has a fever for the first time, and I'm a bit lost. Should I avoid milk completely, or is a little bit okay? And are fruit purees good, or too sweet when they're sick?

When my little cousin gets fever, Bhabhi always gives him plain dal chawal or just plain toast. She keeps offering him water or juice throughout the day. I think light food is best so they don't feel more sick.

Absolutely prioritize fluids when a toddler has a fever. ORS is your best friend. For food, think bland and soft. Soft-cooked rice with curd, thin lentil soup (dal), or well-cooked oats are excellent choices. Avoid dairy if they have mucus or congestion, and definitely no spicy or fried stuff. Small, frequent meals work better than big ones.

Arre beta, bukhar mein bachche ko halka-phulka khana do. Sabse achha toh patli dal aur chawal hota hai. Thodi si khichdi bana do ya fir nariyal pani pila do. Jo unko pasand aaye aur hajam ho jaye, wahi dena chahiye. Zabaradasti mat karna.
