What to expect from psoriasis medication?

I've been prescribed medication for my psoriasis, and I'm starting it soon. What kind of side effects or improvements should I expect? My skin has been really bad lately, so I'm hoping for some relief, but also a bit worried about what the meds will do.

I'm new to this, so I don't know much. But do the medications always work quickly, or does it take a long time to see results? I'm a bit worried about side effects too.

Honestly, it depends on what your doctor prescribes. I started with topical creams, and they helped calm the redness a bit. Later, I had to switch to something stronger. The key is consistency and telling your doctor if something isn't working or causing issues.

Expect a bit of trial and error with psoriasis meds. What works for one might not for another. My advice: stick to the schedule, take pictures of your skin progress for your doctor, and don't expect overnight miracles. It's a journey.

Psoriasis meds, eh? Prepare for a long-term relationship with your dermatologist, haha. They'll probably start you on creams, then maybe pills, and if you're lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you see it), maybe injections. Just follow the doc.

Just like with thyroid, consistent follow-ups and blood tests are crucial with psoriasis. The doctor needs to monitor how the medication is affecting your body and if the dosage needs adjustment. Don't skip your appointments.
