What to eat with a fever?
I've had a fever for two days now and feel very weak. My mother usually makes khichdi, but I'm looking for other ideas of what to eat to regain my strength.

Having a fever always makes me so anxious, especially because I lose my appetite and worry about getting weaker. It's totally okay to not feel like eating much. Just focus on liquids first, like coconut water or clear soup. When you do eat, plain khichdi or soft daal-chawal is good.
Please don't take a fever lightly, especially if it's high or persistent. I once ignored a fever, thinking it was just a normal viral, and it turned out to be something more serious. While eating light is good, the most important thing is to see a doctor and get properly diagnosed. They'll tell you what diet is suitable for your specific condition.
My doctor always emphasizes hydration during a fever. Lots of water, ORS, fresh fruit juices (like mosambi or orange), and clear broths. For solids, she recommended easily digestible foods: khichdi, daliya, soft idli, plain daal-chawal. Avoid anything spicy, oily, or raw, as it puts extra strain on the digestive system.
Light, warm food and plenty of fluids.
When the body is fighting a fever, it needs nurturing, not burden. I find that light, warm, and easily digestible foods help, like clear vegetable broths or simple khichdi. Also, gentle sips of warm water or herbal tea. Avoid anything heavy or stimulating. Listen to your body's signals for recovery.
Fever? My brain cells are already on vacation! 😩 Honestly, when I have a fever, I just want to survive. Plain rice with a tiny bit of daal and lots of warm water is all I can manage. Any extra effort to cook or eat feels like a marathon. Just hydrate and rest!
During fever, my mother always used to give us very light food, like rice kanji or ragi porridge. It's gentle on the stomach and gives energy. Lots of water is also very important. But for any persistent fever, always consult the doctor, they will guide you properly.
