I get fevers sometimes and I always lose my appetite. Should I try to force myself to eat, or just focus on fluids? And are fruits good, or too cold maybe?
When you have a fever, your body needs energy to fight it. So, simple carbs like khichdi or daliya are good. And lots of fluids, obviously. No heavy workouts during fever, obviously, just focus on resting and nutrition. Only very light walking once the fever breaks, if you feel up to it.
Beta, when you have fever, your body needs gentle nourishment. My mother always gave us thin, watery daal and plain rice, or daliya. Sometimes a little bit of idli. Main thing is easily digestible food and plenty of fluids to keep the body strong. Don't eat anything heavy or fried.
I've tried so many things during fever! What truly helps is just plain, light home-cooked food. Like, a simple khichdi or even just warm rice with thin daal. And lots of liquids. Sometimes I'd make a light ginger-tulsi tea, it helps with the throat too. Main thing is don't overeat.
For fever, think easy on the stomach. You need energy but nothing that makes your system work too hard. So, soups, broths, khichdi, thin daal, or just plain rice with curd work well. And keep sipping fluids like coconut water or ORS to prevent dehydration. Small, frequent meals are better than large ones.
Having a fever is the worst, you just feel so weak! I usually stick to really light things. My go-to is plain moong dal khichdi, or just warm daal ka paani. And lots of water and fresh juices like orange or mosambi. Helps keep you hydrated and gives energy.
