What to eat when you have the flu and vomiting?

I've been hit with the flu, and on top of that, I'm vomiting quite a bit. It's hard to keep anything down or even want to eat. What foods should I try to eat when I have the flu and am also vomiting?

Haan yaar, flu aur vomiting saath mein ho toh bahut mushkil hota hai. Try only very light things, like daliya or plain khichdi. Aur nimbu paani peete raho, thoda-thoda. Bilkul fried ya oily kuch mat khaana na.

Bete, when you're vomiting, the most important thing is to stay hydrated. Drink sips of ORS, or even boiled and cooled water. For food, try some very thin rice kanji or moong dal soup. Avoid milk and anything spicy until your stomach settles.

Feeling really anxious when you're sick like this is totally normal. It feels terrible. Just focus on hydrating first. Don't worry too much about eating a lot right now. Once the vomiting stops, you can slowly try some bland food. It's okay to feel weak, just try to rest.

Oh, that sounds really difficult. I've heard some people suggest ginger tea for nausea, but I'm not sure if that's okay with vomiting. Should one avoid even fruits in such a situation?

Yaar, flu with vomiting is the worst combo! Actually, when this happened to me, my doc told me to stick to the BRAT diet initially – Bananas, Rice (plain), Applesauce, Toast. And haan, lots of water or ORS. Anything spicy or fried is a big no-no.

Flu and vomiting can lead to dehydration very quickly, especially if it's severe or prolonged. It's best to consult a doctor to rule out anything serious and get proper guidance. Don't just self-medicate or follow home remedies blindly for this.

Hi! Been through this many times. Stick to clear liquids like electrolyte solutions, tender coconut water, or clear broth for the first 12-24 hours. When you feel a bit better, gradually introduce bland foods like plain toast, bananas, or boiled potatoes. Small, frequent meals work best.
